In the midst of those gloomy autumn days, my fortnightly morning runs in various parks and meadows in Oxford brought light into the monotonicity of lockdown life. I learned to reappreciate the soothing spirit of nature, conferring a sense of stillness amidst accelerating news in the media. I urge everyone struggling these days to try to find refuge in the beauty of their surroundings. For what could be more comforting than the first golden sunbeam in your face breaking through the mist on a cold winter’s day.
