I have moved back to my family home in Darwen, Lancashire, for lockdown. This has allowed me to spend time in wide open spaces from my doorstep, with my family and our dog (the only member of the household afforded public displays of affection). Before the start of lockdown, I bought some dumbbells and a skipping rope, and the twice-a-week circuit training, as well as runs on the moor, with my brother has turned me into a robot that doesn't notice time passing.
How has my routine changed? For one thing, I am still getting used to the weekly cleaning rota in our household. My uni bedroom got hoovered once every 3 months...

About the pictures
On Saturday evening on 30 May 2020, firefighters shuttled past my house to tackle a fire that was ripping across Darwen Moor. The fire took two days to put out, and I'm uploading these photographs because they are the most dramatic thing to have happened within a 3 mile radius of my person during lockdown, but also because they are, if we want to get deep about it, a small testament to the environmental chaos that threatens us all the time, alongside the devastation of COVID-19.
None of this is to be too "Wuthering Heights out on the wiley, windy moor" about things: Darwen also has supermarkets and shops and all the usual conveniences.
