Story
Wallace was the Uncle of Brenda’s mother. He was a rifleman in the Queen Vic Rifles, London Regiment, regiment number 1666.
He was born in 1893 in Stogursey, Taunton, Somerset to William Robert Raffett Ridler-Rowe and Emma a local land owner. Before the war Wallace was an Apprentice Draper
He was killed in action on the first day of the Somme, 1st July 1916 in France. His name is on the Stogursey War Memorial. He is buried at Gommecourt British Cemetery No 2.
A ring was found which may have been his but the family are not sure.
