Story

Frank Thomas Batt was the eldest of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, their mother was Catherine Batt. Frank was born in 1882 and became a sergeant in East Kent. He served in France, he was a baker by trade and died c1965. Frank’s brother Wallace was killed in WWI, but the other two brothers Alf and Harold survived. The boys’ sister, Jessie, visited the Menin Gate in the 1920’s and met her husband there. The trip cost her £5 4s 6d.
