Story
Teresa Kearney left Ireland before the war to join her sister Aby in Paris. Teresa was a nanny for a French Cabinet Minister in Paris when war broke out, so was unable to return home. Throughout the war, she cared for the family in Paris. She also took many trips to other places as her boss, the minister, thought the family would be safer. Her family have many postcards confirming the constant movements of the family but no mention of war.
When Teresa returned to the United Kingdom, she was not allowed into the country as she had spent nine years in France (her English/Irish was thought suspicious). She had to be identified by her sister before she was allowed into England.
