Story

William Edward Kelway enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 30 November 1914. He provided basic first aid to soldiers. He was discharged in June 1919 due to an injury.

His brother, Robert, also served in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. He worked closely with the East Kent Regiment and provided basic first aid at a field hospital. It is likely that Robert was a soldier before the war (reserve number: 2525).

The brothers came from a family with a strong naval background.
