Story

William Duddridge served in the Gloucestershire Regt. A telegram and a sympathy telegram from Kitchener dated 8th October 1914 reporting William’s death from wounds received in action was received by the family. However when soldiers returned to Bristol Station William’s wife was at the station with a friend and saw William step off the train. Proof of this comes from the Bristol Evening Times newspaper article dated 25th June 1915, with a photo stating his address, and details of his work in the new Bristol DCM’s.
