Story
A joiner by trade, James Cant served as a Private with the 2nd and 7th Highland Light Infantry, and was awarded British War and Victory medals. At some point during the war, he spent time at the Crescent War Hospital in London.
According to family stories, he served in India and contracted malaria, which may account for him being hospitalised.
He married Mary Morrison in Glasgow on July 14th, 1916, and had two daughters with her after the war. He died in 1930.
