Lieutenant William Alan Ure, grandson of Lord Provost of Glasgow and nephew of Lord Strathclyde, died as the results of wounds received in action at the age of 23.
His brother, Colin McGregor Ure, was then a Prisoner of War in Germany, and had been for two years.
