Story
Thomas Edward Donaldson belonged to the 100th Machine Gun Company of the British Expeditionary Force. He was a Sergeant, later promoted to 2nd Lieutenant.
He fought in Lesbœufs as part of the Battle of the Somme, and was awarded a military medal for his service.
During conflict, he was gassed and also received shrapnel to the head that would result in dreadful fevers thereafter.
