Story
Sergeant James McDivitt of the Royal Engineers was born in March, 1885. Before the war he was a cabinet maker. On October 23rd, 1918, he was mentioned in a despatch by General E. H. H. Allenby – this was commemorated in a certificate signed by Winston Churchill.
James McDivitt’s granddaughter, Mary McLean Innes, believes he spent most of the war in the Middle East, and saw T.E. Lawrence.
