Story
William Rollo was my second cousin. He was born on 27/11/1892 at Springburn, Scotland, his father also being called William. He graduated with Honours in Latin and Greek at the University of Glasgow on 20/04/1915. He joined the army and became Lieutenant in the 2nd Highland Light Infantry. He was posted as missing at the Battle of Loos, presumed dead. However, he had been taken prisoner. He was liberated to the Netherlands. He decided to continue his studies at the University of Leyden, graduating there with the degree of DLitt. He married Casparina Louise van den Broek who was born on 05/08/1896 at Bussum, Netherlands. He eventually became Professor and died in 1960.
