Story
I visited the memorial in Belgium of one of the men named on the village war memorial in Honeybourne: Albert Adams.
In December 2012 I did some work in the “In Flanders Fields Museum” in Ieper, Belgium. While I was there I visited the Tyne Cot Cemetery. I found the memorial to Albert Adams who was company Sergeant Major in the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment.
According to the website (http://www.rememberthefallen.co.uk/casualty/adams-albert-3/) his service number was 6473. He was born in Binton, Warwickshire and enlisted in Evesham, Worcestershire. He was killed in action aged 33 on 22nd November 1917 during the Third Battle of Ypres. He is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium, Panel 75 to 77.
Albert was the husband of Gertrude Annie Adams. I have not been able to locate the council cottages.
Albert appears on:
