Story

The objects were in the possession of Susan Cowdy, daughter of Ivor Stewart-Liberty, mother of Fenella Tillier and granddaughter of Sir Arthur Liberty (see separate entries.) Sir Arthur originated The Lee Magazine, which was published by the Liberty family during the war years and sold for a nominal sum. Sir Arthur also started "The Lee Week” as an annual event for family and friends in 1905. The activities of the week were recorded in a booklet published after the event. The Lee Newsletter, successor to The Lee Magazine, but now run by local volunteers, continues to this day.
