Story
Private Richard William Thouless was Myra’s Great Uncle. Born in West Ham, London and lived in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, he joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment in 1914 and was killed on 1st July 1916, the first day of the battle of the Somme.
Richard is remembered as one of the 72,000 soldiers commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France.
