Story

A group of us visit France and Belgium regularly and have got to know a gent there in Bus les Artois who found when digging his garden an old bottle inscribed 'Bradford'. He kept it and gave it us on our next visit. It also said 'Undercliffe', a suburb in Bradford where there's a huge cemetery with lots of military from all conflicts.

After more study we discovered that the bottle was made by Milnes and Son, ginger beer, in a factory in Undercliffe. It was presented to Undercliffe Cemetery and is shown to visiting parties there. It was very probably sent as a gift to a soldier of the Bradford Pals, who were based there in 1916 before and after the Battle of the Somme.
