Letter from King George V, Roll of Honour on booklet form

Story

The contributor brought in a Roll of Honour for the men who died who came from the Bristol and County Corporation. It had been found in the attic of a house in Johnson’s Road, Whitehall. There was also a letter from the King found at the same time.

These two items were found in the loft in 17 Johnson's Road, Whitehall, Bristol. The first is a letter from King George V, addressed to the Officers, Non Commissioned Officers and men of the Guards Division, and is dated 22nd March 1919.

The second is a Roll of Honour for the City and County of Bristol showing the Corporation Employees who served in HM Forces 1914–1918.

It is not known to whom both of these items originally belonged. They are now part of the contributor's private collection.
