Story
Raymond is the younger brother of Donald’s great uncle Frederick Beesley (see Frederick's story).
Raymond Beesley was born in Handsworth, Birmingham on 31st January 1902 to Frederick George (an iron moulder) and Agnes Ellen Beesley. In 1911 they had two sons, with Raymond being the youngest. Due to his age Raymond was too young to go to war but his older brother Frederick Charles John did (see Frederick's story).
After his brother’s death, Raymond applied for Frederick's medals on behalf of their mother.
By 1939 Raymond had moved to Devon, being the proprietor of the Rockford Inn, Brendon, Devon. Raymond died on 23rd January 1974 at the Nook, Rockford, Brendon, Devon.
